I left school at 16 and trained to be a hairdresser, at 21 I decided to go backpacking round Australia & then back to Scotland a few years later and got a good career in the Motor trade industry. Recently I fancied a change and wanted to deliver great customer service but in a hair salon. I am DOG obsessed & I love to take Rueben (my dog) on adventures and when I’m not doing that you can find me in a book or drinking wine. ‘I love working for Hair Therapy because all the girls are truly awesome and we have a great work family bond. The clients come in as clients but leave as friends’

Alexena Mcarthur

I’ve been an employee of Hair Therapy since 2013 now and I absolutely love the team! The best part of my job is meeting so many people beautiful. It gives me great satisfaction when a client is super happy with what I have created with their hair. I enjoy watching hair and makeup tutorials to get some useful ideas. Some of my hobbies include cycling and cooking especially a Sunday roast where I enjoy a few G&T’s while cooking for my family.

I've been in the hairdressing industry for 3 years. I first started off as a Saturday girl for 2 years and now training to be a qualified stylist. When I was younger, I would go to the hairdressers with my mum & while she was getting her hair done, I would just sit and  watch all the stylists doing their thing and always thought to myself ‘this is going to be me one day’  What I love most about hairdressing is you really get to know your client and how they like their hair done. I've just started my new chapter here at Hair Therapy and cannot wait to see what adventures are ahead of me and get stuck into training.  In my spare time in the winter season, I like to play curling at the rink & I have been playing for 8 years now!

Charlotte Mcarthur

I have been with Hair Therapy for 7 years, I started as a junior & worked my way up to be a senior stylist. I love learning new colour techniques & new colour formats. The best thing about working for Hair Therapy is my clients, each and every one of them are so good to me & keep me busy on the salon floor. When I am not in the salon, I am spending time with my Family. I love scary movies, the scarier the better!! I take great pride of my work & here at Hair therapy we all work together as a team and this is something we take great pride in which makes everyday a fun day in the salon. Currently I am on maternity leave & I am hoping to be back in the salon floor early 2023

I’ve always had a passion for hairdressing as soon as I could get my hands on a pair of scissors I remember feeling like I was making a beautiful piece of art when, at the young age of 12 practicing on my little sister was the best thing ever as she would let me be as creative as…well my mum would let me be! I started training at 15 in a local salon when school did nothing for me so I couldn’t wait to get out and continue my training full time in the salon. I had some wonderful memories there one of which where I got the opportunity to cut the amazing Annie Lennox hair whilst she was up for the Queens jubilee concert! Eventually I moved on after 7 years and decided to go self employed it was around a year after that in 2007 when I bought the salon I was working in at the time just aged 22. I gathered up some staff and away we went learning it all along the way! I knew we were expanding and decided to take the leap and move salons to Baron Taylor street where the salon was much bigger to which I had a team of 10 staff. This is where I met the lovely Charlotte and Alexena to whom are still working by my side to this day. Which brings us to where we are now at 18 Union street 14 years on and at the beginning of a new exciting time for Hair Therapy and the team as we continue to evolve and establish ourselves more in Inverness.
